Loud earth-shaking booms in at least one area might be attributed to U.S. military destruction training this weekend, officials reported Friday, who also said people should "expect" them.
Destruction training
Residents in communities around Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst should expect "potential ground shaking" booms from range training through Sunday, base officials announced Friday.
"Residents may hear more noise than usual coming from the ranges," according to a statement issued by the base. "It is important to note that noise from the ranges may travel farther during overcast weather conditions."
The training was scheduled to start today and should continue through the weekend between 7 a.m. and 11 p.m.
